How Jamo Combine

κ°€

Consonant + Vowel

Jamo stack into syllable blocks, not a straight line. γ„± (g) + ㅏ (a) becomes κ°€ (ga) β€” one block, one syllable.

ν•œ

+ Final Consonant

A third jamo can close the block. γ…Ž (h) + ㅏ (a) + γ„΄ (n) becomes ν•œ (han), as in ν•œκΈ€ (han-geul) β€” "Korean writing."
